Bournemouth beat Cardiff to go top of Championship after Fulham lose to Middlesbrough, with two games of the season remaining SEVEN teams are still in the hunt for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Fulham's defeat at the Riverside Stadium means they dropped to fourth, with Brentford's goalless draw at home to Birmingham moving them into second. Huddersfield remain third despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home by relegation-threatened Charlton.

With two games remaining, Huddersfield are level on points with Fulham, but trail them on goal difference. Brentford are a point behind in third, with Cardiff fourth, one point adrift of the Bees.

Bournemouth remain top of the table on goal difference after they beat Cardiff 3-0 at Vitality Stadium. The Cherries have 90 points, the same as Huddersfield, but have a better goal difference. The race for the Championship title and automatic promotion to the Premier League is set to go down to the wire. With just two games remaining, seven teams are still in contention, with the top two sides promoted. Fulham looked set to move three points clear at the top when they went ahead at Middlesbrough through Oliver Norwood, but two quick-fire second-half goals from Britt Assombalonga turned the match on its head. That gave Bournemouth the chance to go top, and they took it with a comfortable 3-0 win over Cardiff. Callum Wilson, Junior Stanislas and Lys Mousset were all on target for the Cherries. Brentford moved into second with a goalless draw at home to Birmingham. The Bees have now drawn three of their last four matches, but they remain in the hunt for automatic promotion. Huddersfield were held to a 1-1 draw at home by relegation-threatened Charlton. The Terriers took the lead through Elias Kachunga, but Karlan Grant equalised for the Addicks. The draw means that Huddersfield have now failed to win any of their last three matches. However, they remain in third place and are still in the driving seat for automatic promotion. Cardiff are now fourth, one point behind Brentford. The Bluebirds have lost their last two matches and will need to win their remaining two games and hope that other results go their way if they are to finish in the top two. Fulham, Brentford, Huddersfield and Cardiff are all virtually assured of a top-six finish, with Sheffield Wednesday dropping to seventh after a 1-0 defeat at home to Preston. The Owls are now seven points behind Cardiff with just two games remaining, and they will need a miracle to finish in the top six.
